The word style can refer to a way of doing something or designing something to take a particular form. In most cases though, it is used to describe a person’s outlook or how they present themselves.
Most people express their style in how they dress, do their hair, choice of makeup, and shoe types, among others. It is especially a very sensitive topic with young adults since they want to go with the latest trends to look “cool” to their peers.
Of course being stylish is everyone’s dream, and it goes to show that one appreciates modernity and is flexible to new ideas. However, it comes at a cost. Staying up to date with the most recent trends is an expensive affair since it means shopping very too often. It is, therefore, safe to say that fashion can turn people into slaves.
Young adults are the most affected by this. Their primary concern at their age is looking stylish and going with what is fashionable at their time. At this age, they feel that their fashion statements define their personalities and bring out who they are.
Therefore, it is normal that they will want to try any “in thing” no matter how ridiculous or crazy it may look. Especially with technology enabling so many forms of communication, young people from around the world look up for fashion inspirations from artists such as Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, One Direction among others.
Style and fashion trends will keep changing through the years, and therefore it is not worth all the hustle of chasing after every new trend every season. The truth is you will outgrow it sometime.
