AVRIL LAVIGNE BATTLE WITH LYME DISEASE

Avril 30 year old Canadian guitarist and singer said she is feeling better after her prolonged absence from public due to her disease.

There been numerous rumors about her Lyme disease with some people speculating that the singer was dying. That said she came out in public and dismissed those rumors. “I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t move”, Lavigne said in an interview. “I thought I was dying”.

She said she spent five months in bed after being diagnosed late last year with Lyme disease, which is generally spread by bites from ticks. Lavigne says that there are times she didn’t shower for a full week because she could barely stand.

“I felt like having all your life sucked out of you” she said. She also said she has being receiving care from her mother in Ontario as well as her husband Chad Kroeger, she is now 80 percent better,” she said.

According to the centers for disease control, almost 30,000 people contract Lyme disease each year when the temperature rise adding that Lyme disease is often mistaken for flu.

About 10 percent of cases of untreated Lyme disease will be self limited and not have further issues without treatment. If someone with Lyme disease is missed the disease could progress to the joints, the heart, the central nervous system or other organs. Canada is greatly affected because the climate expands the areas hospitable to risks.

Lavigne became a global sensation with her album “Let Go” during her teen. She has not released an album since herself title work in 2013 but she has written a song for the Special Olympics which open in July in Los Angeles.
